Note - Most scholars do not believe that the Mary in Luke 10:38-42 is Mary Magdalene. Some believe they are the same Mary, but that is a minority view. Nonetheless the principle of being "with" Jesus is demonstrated in both Mary's. Both are with Jesus, and at the feet of Jesus in different seasons of his ministry.
